This is a rendering of balusters we reproduced for a customer's home in Washington state. My customer had a fancy for balusters she had seen in an Historic home owned be a Silas Dean. Unlike my drawing the balusters alternate between the balusters shown and barley twisted which is, in fact, how we made them. I just did not draw the barley twisted balusters. The neat feature of these is the little square detail near the bottom. The square was not uncommon in the early days of America. You can see the originals by clicking on the Silas Dean link.
