I originally offered the N102 newel five and one half inches wide at the base - four feet high. I designed this simple shape for a local customer who wanted an exterior newel for a deck and porch. I liked the design and decided to make it available to my customers nation wide. Recently, I had a customer request to make a larger version of the N102 for his office. This rendering was drawn with an eight inch base. The top, however, is smaller at 6 1/2 inches - this looks better than making the top as large as the base. The height on these is about 54 inches.
