Synopsis: Newel on a Pedestal

pedestal newel

This is a new prototype newel that I am working on. The distinction with this one is that the newel comes mounted on a pedestal. The turned portion is simply a Greek style column. The square base is 4" square. The column part is 3 1/2" at the widest. I have it drawn at 44 inches high overall. The molding at the base would have to be cut for the customers particular application as well as the base itself. The molding would then be applies afterward.
