If you have a stairway you probably have a squeaky stair tread or two (or three). Follow this link for a quick fix: Squeeek No More Screws. The Squeeeeek No More kit is available at hardware stores and home centers. If you have carpeting then the carpet covers the hole made by the screw hole. A hole made in a wood tread has to be covered with a stain stick or wood plug. The system is, of course, good for squeaky flooring as well.
