This is another rendering that I created using Google Sketchup. The newel is based on my N102 except that it is an over-the-post newel were as the N102 is a post-to-post newel. The balusters are based on 2 1/2 inch poplar balusters I made for a customer in Mississippi. The top of these balusters is one inch in diameter. Since the "run" or tread depth is 10 inches the space between the baluster is 4 inches which complies with the four inch rule.
