I wrote about this particular renovation in a previous post. I wanted to post an image of the entry because it embodies all the elements I love in an entry. The double columns on top the brick base (stone or stucco would do as well IMHO). You could do without the double columns but I think the entry is finer with all four columns. The next architectural element is the "eyebrow" arches. I love "eyebrow arches and prefer them to the full semi circular type. I can't explain why exactly but I do. The arches are present in the roof line as well as the double doors. The brick stairs are cool as well as the cornice surrounding the entry. Notice as well the vaulted ceiling in the entry.
