Stair Post Newel

3 1/2" w top and 5 1/2" w base X 48"h
This is one of my newer Stair Post Newel designs. I like it because of the narrow top (3 1/2" w) and the wide base (5 1/2" w).
I occasionally get request for large post-to-post newels (7 inches wide and wider). The square at the top of a large newel (that receives the handrail) looks enormous, in my opinion. This stair post newel with a smaller top solves this problem. The mushroom top on this newel, I think, is quite nice as well. This post-to-post newel is shipped ready to paint or stain.
